Today I will be joining the Emergency Free Speech Rally Outside Conroy's Office at 17 Mason St, Newport, Victoria, 1pm in Melbourne. This rally is being orgainized by The Australian Taxpayers' Alliance and Free Speech Australia.

Senator Conroy has just announced an unprecedented attack on free speech in Australia - the creation of a government licensing and censorship regime, and the start of "government sanctioned journalism".

This legislation is based on recommendations from the Finkelstein report which could affect free speech and freedom of the press here in Australia. This legislation could affect anyone who creates news items from bloggers all the way to mainstream media outlets.
